The Manchester Mile 16th July 2014 at Sportcity – in memory of David Coleman

1 mile race on the athletics track at Sportcity with electronic timing and photo-finish.

We hope that the full results will be available on this site Thursday 17th July.

All abilities can enter the Manchester Mile and will be seeded, youngsters and adults and a Commemorative T-Shirt (Training material) to all who take part. 
THERE IS A CLOSING DATE SO DO NOT MISS OUT!!

We have the England Commonwealth Games Athletes coming along to present prizes and T-Shirts and have sponsorship from Soreen and Ron Hill and hope to have a member of David Coleman’s Family along to present the MANCHESTER MILE (Original) TROPHY (as shown on the David Coleman Tribute on BBC 1 last week) to the winner.

The evening will start at 5:30 pm with races for the U15s and U17s. The Senior races will start at 7:15 pm. It will be pre-entries only with runners being graded on their estimated time. The Manchester Mile Trophy will be presented to the fastest man and The Rose Bowl to the fastest woman. Trophies will also be awarded to the fastest male and female veterans (minimum age 40 and 35 respectively) and to the fastest male and female U15 and U17.

The Seventh Joe Moran Memorial Veteran Track & Field Meeting – Wednesday 18th June 2014 at Sportcity

Manchester Harriers & A.C. present The Seventh Joe Moran Memorial
Veteran Track & Field Meeting on Wednesday 18th June 2014 7.15 pm to 9:15 pm at Sportcity, Manchester.
Track Events: 800m, 100m, 3000m, 200m, 1500m, 400m

Field Events: Javelin, High Jump, Long Jump, Shot Putt

ENTRY FEE: £5 for 1 to 4 events plus £1 for each additional event

Winners Medals will be awarded to the first three finishers in each category:
Male / Female – 35, 40, 45, 50, 55, 60, 65, 70, 75

City Games This Weekend

Hi All
Manchester Harriers Senior Relay Team will be performing at the BT City Games this Saturday
This is a great opportunity for our club and the four star’s of the team are:

If you are around please go along and support the lads, they are running about 12 noon so be there to cheer them on!!!!!!!!!
Saturday 17th May
BUPA Mini & Junior Kids Run – Heaton Park from 8.30am to 2pm.
Great City Games – Deansgate and Albert Square from 11am approx. to 2.40pm
Sunday 18th May
BUPA Manchester 10k – City Centre – First race 9.55am and finishes about 2pm.
It’s too late to enter the events but if you are free we need a few volunteers to help out. All volunteers get a lunch, jacket, have a lot of fun and raise money for the club!
